Beyond the Pale with Cormac Lucey and David Quinn
Beyond the Pale is a current affairs podcast hosted by Cormac Lucey and David Quinn. It examines the shifting certainties in Irish society, contrasting the moral conservatism and economic caution of the 1970s with today's emphasis on human rights, secularism, open borders, Brussels-first politics, climate action and green energy. The hosts argue that both eras' orthodoxies are held with excessive confidence and are partly wrong. They step outside the consensus to ask difficult questions about Irish politics and to consider what Ireland's long-term interests require.
