About radio
UCC 98.3FM is Ireland's only 24/7 student radio station, broadcasting from University College Cork (UCC). Established in the mid-1990s, the station serves as a dynamic platform for students and the wider Cork community, offering a diverse range of programming that includes music, talk shows, and community-focused content.
Operating under a license from the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland, UCC 98.3FM broadcasts on 98.3 MHz FM, reaching audiences within a 40-mile radius around Cork city. The station's output features a 60% speech to 40% music ratio, making it primarily a talk radio station. All programs are researched, produced, and presented by student and staff volunteers, providing a valuable resource and facilitator for UCC's community projects.
The station's programming schedule is eclectic, catering to various interests and age groups. Notable shows include "The Geto," "The Wake Up Call," and "Radio Camy Sound," each offering unique content ranging from music to discussions on current affairs. UCC 98.3FM also provides training and guidance to its volunteers, helping them develop skills in production, interviewing, and broadcasting.
In 2020, UCC 98.3FM moved to its new home in the Hub building, an exciting opportunity that creates new possibilities for the station. The Hub is designed as a flexible learning space, and the studio space aligns with this mindset, allowing for interactive and adaptable programming that keeps pace with current and future technological developments.

How is the rating calculated?
The more people listen to the radio station during the last 7 days, the higher it ranks.
Only unique plays are counted; repeatedly reloading the page or pressing “Play” multiple times does not affect the ranking.
