Wired FM 99.9 is Limerick\'s only fully licensed student radio station, serving as a dynamic platform for third-level students to engage in broadcasting. Established in 1995, the station operates as a partnership between Mary Immaculate College and Technological University of the Shannon, with studios located on both campuses. The station broadcasts a wide range of programmes, including magazine shows, specialist music, student current affairs, documentaries, educational programmes, and arts, book, and film shows. Music shows cover every genre, from ska to soul, trance to traditional, protest music to metal, always with an emphasis on local and unsigned talent. Wired FM is committed to inclusivity, participation, and experimentation, providing an accessible platform for information, debate, and concerns pertaining to all aspects of student life. The station broadcasts during term time (October to December, and January to May) from 9 am to 10 pm on 99.9 FM, with a 24-hour online stream available during these periods.
